Getting here . . .

It all started on July 19, 2010 with two movers hauling 5000 lbs of our stuff away.
See you in 6 to 11 business days stuff!

Somewhere in Saskatchewan it was time for a break.

The last of the prairie sky before Alberta.

The first thing in Banff was the gondola up to Sulphur Mountain -
even before checking into the hotel.

The girls really enjoyed the trip . . . Karla . . . not so much.

The views at the top were worth the fear though.

The view from the bridge over the Bow River. Amazing!

A hike along the Bow River toward the falls and the Banff Springs hotel.

We made it!

Karla enjoying the Cascade Gardens on our second day in Banff.

The main strip in Banff.
We walked up and down that strip many MANY times.

We stopped somewhere near Roger's Pass for a pee break.
It was a monumental pee break - Hannah and Sasha's first pee break by the side of the highway.

Just some berries at Roger's Pass. They didn't get peed on.

Just before the turn off from the #1 to get to Kelowna, there is this really weird place called "The Enchanted Forest". You hike through the forest and visit a bunch of fairy tales. Here's the "Old Lady in the Shoe".
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" Sasha, of course.

Teatime with Turtle. Ummm . . . what fairy tale is that from???

Not sure. Just a really tall treehouse with spiral stairs. Also not sure if it was built to code.

We finally pulled into Burnaby on July 25, 2010. As we were having supper that night, the driver of the moving truck called and said he had arrived with our stuff. We took delivery of our stuff the next afternoon. Sweet!

4816 Georgia Street, Burnaby. Home sweet home for 1 year.

  1. Hi Karla, I love your blog! Great to see your house and all your adventures along the way! We miss you all already, well not Mike so much, but you and the girls. Don't worry Mike, Ryan misses you! Our europe trip was fabulous, too much to write about, I think I"ll have to give you a call sometime soon. Hope your unpacking is going better than mine. We got home 2 days ago, and still feel overwhelmed with the STUFF that exploded out of out suitcases. Take care, look forward to your next blog!
